Frequently Asked Questions
Are you currently accepting new patients?

Eppes Psych does not see pediatric patients.

Do you prescribe medications?
Yes, we prescribe psychotropic medications when appropriate for symptom management.
Is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner the same as a Psychiatrist?
No, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is not the same as a psychiatrist, though both are qualified to diagnose and treat mental health conditions. A PMHNP is a registered nurse with advanced training in mental health care, holding either a master’s or doctoral degree. PMHNPs provide a range of services, including assessment, diagnosis, medication management, and therapy. Psychiatrists, on the other hand, are medical doctors (MDs or DOs) who complete medical school and specialized training in psychiatry. Both professionals are skilled in mental health care, but the main difference is in their educational background and training pathways. Eppes Psych works with a collaborating physician in accordance with Florida HB 607.
Do you accept insurance?
Eppes Psych is a cash-pay only practice, which means we do not accept insurance. However, we can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
Can I receive mental health care remotely?
Currently, I provide patients with the option to meet virtually for some appointments. However, in certain cases where required by law, in-person appointments are necessary. Overall, I aim to provide an option that best suits my patients’ needs and comfort levels.
How do I schedule an appointment?
You can schedule an appointment by calling the office directly at (321) 294-9388.
